HCH Phase I & Phase II Progressions!

Hopital Claire Heureuse is once again a beehive of activity.  The interior of the "maternity of excellence" is well on its way to being completed.  The guys are busy tiling, painting, floating walls, welding partitions, running electrical, & plumbing! Burt is thankful, once again, for excellent crews plus the help of Jim Donnelson, Russ, Arnel and a couple of team members from Michigan with the electrical work.  The next steps will be to transition the existing maternity over into the new area, temporarily using the private and semi private rooms as labour and delivery.  This will then allow the present facility to be renovated, all the while preparing to have everything transpire so there is as little disruption as possible!

Along with this is the excitement of Phase II.  Footings are being prepared for the addition which will house 2 new operating rooms, an x-ray/ultrasound facility, and an emergency room.  The orange fence is erected, staff and visitors are being re-routed and it's full steam ahead!  We'll keep you posted as this hospital, which is such a vital part of the community, continues to grow in an effort to provide better health and spiritual care.

The mission statement of the hospital: "To evangelize, to heal and to teach", encompasses both the spiritually lost, and the physically sick on whom we are called to have compassion and share the good news of Christ with.  May this hospital continue to grow, all the while seeking to share and spread the good news of the gospel.

"... Why is your teacher eating with the tax collectors and sinners?"  Jesus said "It is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick.  But go and learn what this means: I desire compassion and not sacrifice, for I did not come to call the righteous but sinners." Matt 9:11b-13 NASB
